Gilbert Germain in Ghana and shows his commitment to the rights of children and young people. The film was made as part of an exchange between the St. Germain School and a Lower Saxony vocational school. He gives insights into the challenges in the life of Ghanaian schoolchildren and also shows the downsides of our consumer society. Inspired by the work of Mr. Germain and the graduates of St. Germain School, the film is a passionate appeal for more humanity and social commitment. After the film, Gilbert Germain reports on his work and answers questions from the audience.

Documentary “Climbing a good tree” with Gilbert German, human rights activist from Ghana, and Tim Pauls who directed the movie. The movie highlights Gilbert German’s efforts to protect the rights of children and young people in Ghana. It was produced as the result of a students´ exchange between St. Germans School (set up by Gilbert German) and a trade school in Lower Saxony. Highlighting the challenges in the life of ghanaian children, it also reveals the dark sides of our consumer society. Inspired by the work of Gilbert German and the students of St. Germans School the movie is a passionate appeal for more humanity and social commitment.
