DESCRIPTION:In dieser Ausstellung bezieht sich der Künstler Henrik Langsdo
 rf in Form einer Videoinstallation auf die Arbeit „Five Car Stud" des US
 -Künstlers Edward Kienholz\, die 1972 auf der documenta 5 gezeigt wurde. 
 Kienholz' Installation stellt eine rassistisches Gewaltszene dar. Langsdor
 f geht der Frage nach\, wo wir heute — 50 Jahre später — stehen im Hi
 nblick auf gewalttätige Haßverbrechen und Rassismus ganz allgemein. Them
 atisch und inhaltlich damit verknüpft ist “HAPPYLAND: No First Aid”\,
  sein Beitrag zur Ausstellung “First Aid” im Hugenottenhaus vom 18. Ju
 ni bis 24. September 2022. Eine Version der dafür entwickelten Arbeit ist
  ebenfalls Teil der Ausstellung in der Galeria Kollektiva. Henrik Langsdor
 f arbeitet in den Bereichen Videoinstallation\, Kunst im öffentlichen Rau
 m und Design. 2019 nahm er mit seiner Arbeit "Ville Fantôme: from Utopia 
 to the present" an der Congo-Biennale in Kinshasa Teil. Seine Videoinstall
 ation “Rudolf Duala Manga Bell — eine deutsche Geschichte” wurde im 
 ruruhaus/documenta fifteen in Kassel und im MARKK Museum in Hamburg gezeig
 t. Er ist Initiator von Blind Spots in the Sun\, eine Reihe von Kunstinter
 ventionen\, die sich mit Kolonialismus und Rassismus in Deutschland besch
 äftigen. Er lebt und arbeitet in New York\, Kassel und Nairobi.\n\n\n\nIn
  this exhibition\, the artist Henrik Langsdorf refers in the form of a vid
 eo installation to the work "Five Car Stud" by the US artist Edward Kienho
 lz\, which was shown at documenta 5 in 1972. Kienholz's installation depic
 ts a racist scene of violence. Langsdorf explores the question of where we
  are today - 50 years later - with regard to violent hate crimes and racis
 m in general. Thematically linked to this is "HAPPYLAND: No First Aid"\, h
 is contribution to the exhibition "First Aid" at the Hugenottenhaus from J
 une 18 to September 24\, 2022. A version of the work developed for "First 
 Aid" is also part of the exhibition at Galeria Kollektiva. Henrik Langsdor
 f works in the fields of video installation\, public art and design. In 20
 19\, he participated in the Congo Biennale in Kinshasa with his work "Vill
 e Fantôme: from Utopia to the present." His video installation "Rudolf Du
