  Commission is planning to remove any regulations on New Genetic Engineeri
 ng techniques such as CRISPR/Cas. The conservative faction has now even ta
 rgeted organic farming by proposing to include GMO-use in organic standard
 s.\n\n🧑‍🌾 As a result\, plants produced with New Genetic technique
 s would be cultivated\, processed and marketed throughout the EU without l
 abelling and without risk assessment.\nThe lack of labelling and the aboli
 tion of cultivation distance regulations would completely remove the freed
 om of choice of consumers and farmers. All this despite recent surveys\, t
 hat show that a majority of respondents is in favour of compulsory labelli
 ng (source: Foodwatch).\n\nThe new proposal is now to be voted on in the E
 uropean Council and Parliament.\n\n🥕What is the current status?\n🥕Is
  new genetic engineering really the answer to climate change?\n🥕What wo
