En esta exposición, el artista Henrik Langsdorf hace referencia a la obra Five Car Stud en forma de videoinstalación” del artista estadounidense Edward Kienholz, la 1972 en la documenta 5 fue mostrado. Kienholz’ La instalación representa una escena racista de violencia.. Langsdorf investiga la cuestión, donde estamos hoy - 50 Años más tarde: posición en términos de delitos de odio violentos y racismo en general. Relacionado con esto está “HAPPYLAND: Sin Primeros Auxilios”, sein Beitrag zur Ausstellung “First Aid” im Hugenottenhaus vom 18. Juni bis 24. septiembre 2022. Eine Version der dafür entwickelten Arbeit ist ebenfalls Teil der Ausstellung in der Galeria Kollektiva. Henrik Langsdorf arbeitet in den Bereichen Videoinstallation, Kunst im öffentlichen Raum und Design. 2019 nahm er mit seiner Arbeit “Ville Fantôme: from Utopia to the present” an der Congo-Biennale in Kinshasa Teil. Seine Videoinstallation “Rudolf Duala Manga Bell — eine deutsche Geschichte” wurde im ruruhaus/documenta fifteen in Kassel und im MARKK Museum in Hamburg gezeigt. Er ist Initiator von Blind Spots in the Sun, eine Reihe von Kunstinterventionen, die sich mit Kolonialismus und Rassismus in Deutschland beschäftigen. Er lebt und arbeitet in New York, Kassel und Nairobi.
In this exhibition, the artist Henrik Langsdorf refers in the form of a video installation to the work “Five Car Stud” by the US artist Edward Kienholz, which was shown at documenta 5 en 1972. Kienholz’s installation depicts a racist scene of violence. Langsdorf explores the question of where we are today – 50 years later – with regard to violent hate crimes and racism in general. Thematically linked to this is “HAPPYLAND: No First Aid”, his contribution to the exhibition “First Aid” at the Hugenottenhaus from June 18 to September 24, 2022. A version of the work developed for “First Aid” is also part of the exhibition at Galeria Kollektiva. Henrik Langsdorf works in the fields of video installation, arte público y diseño. En 2019, participó en la Bienal del Congo en Kinshasa con su obra “Ville Fantôme: De la utopía al presente.” Su videoinstalación “Campana Rudolf Duala Manga – una historia alemana” se mostró en ruruhaus/documenta quince en Kassel y en el Museo MARKK en Hamburgo. Es el iniciador de Blind Spots in the Sun., una serie de intervenciones artísticas que tratan sobre el colonialismo y el racismo en Alemania. Vive y trabaja en Nueva York., Kassel y Nairobi.
