In the midst of global crises and the increasing militarization of society, an alliance of anti-war movements and the Hessian Left invites you to the anti-militarism conference. The individual events take place in the Vorderer Westen district center and in the Villa Locomuna.
Given the alarming developments in countries like Iran, of Ukraine, Lebanon and Palestine, and concerns about a new arms race - also in Germany, where young people are to be recruited again for military service - it is urgently necessary, to stand up for peace and social justice. In the year 2025 Military spending has increased to a shocking level 2,5 amount to trillions of euros, which represents an increase of 47% since 2015 corresponds. These developments require a clear response and common resistance, since these expenditure developments should also be compensated for by savings on important achievements of the welfare state.
The Antimilitarism Conference aims to achieve this, international and local activists, scientist*within, employees, to bring young people and interested people together, to develop strategies, how wars can be ended from below and how employees and residents can defend themselves against the expansion of the war industry.
The program includes top-class speakers such as Özlem Demirel (MEP, The left), Jed (Anti-ICE activist from the USA), Violetta Bock (MdB, The left) and many other exciting articles, which deal with topics such as militarization, social justice and historical analysis.
