Charlie Marshall is a singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Australia, an integral part of this great city's music scene since the 1980s. He was the guitar-wielding backbone for some of Melbourne's best bands, from the legendary punk blues of Harem Scarem to the soulful intensity of The Body Electric, The star cast also includes members of Dirty Three, Beasts Of Bourbon and the Avalanches belonged. As a performer and songwriter, he can compare with better-known Australian exports such as Nick Cave, Robert Forster, Ed Kuepper and Kim Salmon measure.
Charlie draws inspiration from a range of genres – Soul, Blues, Folk, Punk, Indie and jazz – creating a unique and authentic style. His music comes from passion, the instinct and the state of high emotions or the “longing of the soul”, known as Duende. His songs are poetic, romantic meditations on life, love, Political, Philosophy and the universe. They come from the heart.
Recently, Charlie has been expanding his extensive catalog of self-produced studio recordings and his solo live show “Electric Troubadour” refined, at the voice, Guitar and backing loops merge into a dynamic force, those of gentle, intimate moments to angry ones, beguiling intensity is enough.
