Meteorites are a surprisingly current topic: In the first half of the year 2026 An above-average number of sightings were reported, The cause of the accumulation remains unclear to this day. However, it is undisputed, that these guests from outer space have been with us since time immemorial. Different cultures have observed their appearance in a variety of ways, interpreted and relayed.
Based on Regine Petersen's book “A Brief History of Meteorite Falls” to have 13 Students in the illustration/comics department at the Kassel Art University translated historical reports about meteorite sightings into graphic narratives.
The artistic positions in this publication are as diverse as these historical reports. It focuses on a new generation of young illustrators from Kassel and combines an impressive range of styles and narrative approaches.
We want to celebrate the release of the comic anthology with a comic reading!
