Feminists fight in Poland:inside against the authoritarian formation in the country – a debate of global importance.
since 2015 pushes the ruling party 'Law and Justice' in Poland (PiS) in solidarity with the Catholic Church, an authoritarian restructuring of political institutions and an authoritarian change in society. In the course of this, civil liberties and the separation of powers were gradually withdrawn. Migrant:inside are aggressively repelled at the external borders, while inwards there is agitation against the 'corrupt cosmopolitan elite'. This new authoritarian formation is held together by a specific imagination: the traditional Christian family as the supposed core of the Polish nation.
Because this imagination of the Christian family is of extreme importance for its authoritarian project, In Poland, the ruling party is particularly harsh against everything, that does not fit into this: queer people, Feminist:inside and abortions. The PiS has tried this several times in recent years, the abortion legislation, which has already been since 1993 was very regressive, to further tighten. She tries, to consolidate their political project on women's bodies. She uses the demonization of abortion as a vehicle to generate approval and as a means to fuel misogyny.
Against these attacks on their lives, The feminists are fighting against the entire authoritarian project:bitter resistance within Poland. They protest with slogans like “Poland is hell for women”, „PiS, fuck off!and “The power is a woman.”. With courage, energy, Humor, With presence of mind and feminist solidarity, they oppose the right-wing alliance. Prevented demonstrations and political strikes (temporarily) a tightening of abortion laws.
