In front 11 The global campaign “Fashion Revolution Week” was launched in the form of a week of action. It commemorates the tragic collapse of the Rana Plaza textile factory in Dhaka (2013, Bangladesh) and the existing grievances in the global textile industry – precarious working conditions, Human rights violations, lack of opportunities for participation, inadequate implementation of legal requirements, Consumption of large amounts of water, Chemicals and energy for production. Transparent and fair supply chains are becoming increasingly stronger, Compliance with human rights and eco-fair production are required.
There is an interdisciplinary team behind this week of action, which is committed to eco-fair fashion, committed to conscious consumption and the optimization of legal framework conditions. A group of activists in the city and district of Kassel are also campaigning for these changes. We load on 27. April 2024 to our conference “Fashion Revolution Week Kassel – (Local commitment) for social-ecological sustainability in textiles- and fashion industry”.. The conference creates space, to find out about the implementation of the German supply chain law and to question existing consumption structures. It offers the opportunity for active participation, Try out alternatives and afterward- and thinking further. In this way, we contribute to positive change in fashion- and textile industry and contribute to it, To strengthen Kassel as a fair trade town.
