We We are pleased to present you with a variety of events for the critical orientation weeks again this year. We were a very small organization team this year and were therefore only able to accept unsolicited requests. Next year we would like more people to join the organizing team. But for now, have fun with the program this year!
since 2017 The critical orientation weeks offer a left-wing and emancipatory counter-offer to the classic semester start events. While the traditional O-weeks are often characterized by non-political drinking sprees, let's build the alternative: A diverse program of lectures, discussions, Workshops and pub evenings, organized by left-wing groups and initiatives. You can network here, discuss and take action!
Capitalism doesn't just attack our everyday lives, but also permeates the campus: Pressure to perform, Competition and isolation are everyday life for students. The school-based courses of study, that are being forced upon us by the neoliberal restructuring of universities, leave hardly any room for critical discussions of the big questions of our time. Do these arguments take place?, The authoritarian restructuring of universities is becoming increasingly noticeable. There is also a fight for the future of civil research at the University of Kassel. We oppose it, that universities are increasingly being subordinated to the interests of armaments and arms companies.
The civil clause must remain and be tightened – Our university must not become a research location for war!
Our responses to individualism and competition are solidarity and collective organizing. With our events we want to create space for this and develop perspectives, which also extend beyond the campus. This is another reason why the events are not only aimed at first-semester students, but to everyone, the interest in a left, have an emancipatory answer to the conditions of our time.
Our goal is, to break through the neoliberal isolation of many students and to network, to politicize and fight together. Into that Auditorium, in the street, all over. Against the existing conditions and for a future of solidarity.
