Last year were valid in Kassel 1339 people as homeless. They sleep in so-called homeless households or emergency shelters. The number of unreported cases is high. The number of people, who spend day and night on the streets can only be estimated.
But the fact is: It can happen to anyone and in the vast majority of cases, homelessness is not a choice.
On a tour around Kassel city center, we get to know the perspective of someone who was previously affected. After about an hour we meet in Panama, get to know the rooms and offers there. Let's swap ideas over coffee, Tea and cake out.
With the event we want to help destigmatize homelessness. Create a space for encounters and impart knowledge about it, what life on the street means and what help is available. We also want to talk about it, what needs to change politically and how important a respectful encounter is!
