After more than a decade break from the album format, the Swedish dream pop pioneers return The Mary Onettes back with “SWORN” – a stirring and emotional new album, that on 14. November via Welfare Sounds & Records is released.
The band became 2000 founded in Jönköping and gained popularity with their self-titled debut album from the year 2007 international recognition, that of Pitchfork, Stereogum and The Guardian and later appeared in cult series such as Grey's Anatomy and First Love (Netflix Japan) was presented. Known for their rich textures, their nostalgic atmosphere and their emotionally charged lyrics, They remained a cult favorite even in their quieter years.
With “SWORN”, The Mary Onettes are now reclaiming their place at the top of Scandinavian dream pop. The album brings together a number of current singles, darunter „Tears To An Ocean“, the atmospheric “Hurricane Heart”, „Eyes Open“ (with Maja Milner from the Swedish band Makthaverskan) and “Without This Body” – alongside new material, that delves deeper into topics such as emotional renewal, Identity and time are concerned. „Slide“, a haunting highlight, captures the pain of fading connections and the quiet resignation of letting go.
The new album “SWORN” combines shimmering synthesizers, Vintage drum machines and moving lyricism with a timeless aesthetic. It's an album, that feels both grounded and weightless – a testament to this, that The Mary Onettes aren't just back, but more alive than ever.

After their EP “Night Tales” (2024) the band was in the studio again. Your new EP is called “Mirros&Mazes” and the first single “Everything I Have” have already been released.
