In front 75 years, am 14. May 1948, the state of Israel was founded. This is already happening in Israel and in the Jewish communities in Germany according to the Jewish calendar this year 25 celebrated in April. Against the background of the current conflicts in Israel, the Israeli President recalled the successes of the joint effort to build a Jewish and democratic community. This is what we at BgA-Kassel are concerned about, on the anniversary of Israel's Declaration of Independence to shed light on the social background in our country, which come to light again and again in the debates about the State of Israel and to advocate unwavering and unconditional solidarity with the State of Israel.
For this we will, like almost every year, advertise with our information stand on Friedrichsplatz in Kassel. In the evening we invited Alexander Feuerherdt, on the occasion of 14. May 1948 a critical look at the image of Israel in the “international community”, in German society and German politics.
