A relic does not rest. It insists, accumulated, seep through. It wants more than just last. It insists on its own transience, breaks ideas of linearity, Mixes time strands together. It occupied
the threshold between decay and the development. A relic is not a fossil. It's a process. Something that opposes rules. A call back in time. Not from nostalgia, but out of necessity.
A relic is a sticky matter examines the, What remains - a substance, The connects, Leaves the residue and cannot be removed smoothly. The work shown does not think matter as a passive object, but as a relational network: body, landscapes, pictures, Politics and artifacts connected in a complex network. You examine queer -anti -legislative legislation, The construction of private property on land, an abandoned place in space history, lively artifacts, Museized houses of famous artists and fragmented memories through trauma.
A relic is a sticky matter is the annual exhibition of the Graduate school for moving image, which presents the projects of the participants as a series under the title GBB_EDITS and at the same time the final exhibition is for those, who end their two -year participation in the GBB. The graduate school for moving images: Analog realities, Digital materialities (Gbb) has been 2020 built up as a pilot project at the Kassel University of Applied Sciences.
