Georgina Mowwe presents her thesis “Beige” in a shop.
Beige is a documentary graphic novel about the feeling of being in-between. The work combines drawings, Photographs and everyday souvenirs from a trip – like labels, Receipts, Spice packaging, Notes and little snippets. This multi-layered collection accompanies parables and anecdotes, which shed light on the experiences of a PoC in Germany who is read as white. The journey itself takes you through the south of the USA, in order to reflect the two nationalities of the first-person narrator equally.
