Feminist Solidarity – FLINTA*s unites internationally

Am 8. March is international feminist struggle day. Women, Lesbians, inter*, non-binary, trans*, and older people (kurz FLINT*) strike worldwide against patriarchal oppression, Exploitation and violence. We also want to demonstrate in Kassel.

a 16:30 We start from the town hall and end at Nordstadtpark.

Last year made it clear once again, that the fight against patriarchal oppression is more important than ever. In Iran, women are fighting for their autonomy in the feminist revolution, Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine is forcing FLINTA* people in particular to flee and into the arms of human traffickers, in many countries, including Poland, The feminist movement takes to the streets against LGTBQ hatred and restrictive abortion laws.

There and here women are, inter*, nonbinary, trans* and agender people are deprived of the right to physical self-determination. The paragraph still exists in Germany 218, who forbids us, to decide freely and without humiliating questions, whether we want to have children or not. There is not enough living space, Hospitals, Maternity wards, Midwives, Nativity scenes- and daycare places. At the same time, the wages in these institutions are far too low, especially for FLINTA* people.

All of this limits us, to be able to decide freely, how we shape our lives, whether and how we deal with many, want to live with few or no children.

That's why we stand in solidarity 8. March with the strike by colleagues in the public sector, who are fighting nationwide for better working conditions and wages in nursing and care work. Because the success of this strike benefits us all.

Regardless of whether it is a reproductive crisis, Inflation, climate crisis, wars, Poverty - the crises are systematically brought about by the capitalist mode of production. Not just our workforce, our bodies too, our ideas, All of our time and energy should be used as profitably as possible. Exploitation and violence against people and nature are becoming increasingly aggressive. People around the world are suffering from Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine, the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, Floods like in Pakistan, especially FLINTA* people suffer from a lack of infrastructure, Food and support.

The situation for refugee women and families is also miserable in Germany, Some of them live in isolation with their children for years in initial reception centers and shared accommodation and there is a lack of medical care and child-friendly care- and employment opportunities. Violence against FLINTA* people has also increased in recent years. This year alone, people have already died in Germany 24 women and two children (Ex-)partners and family members, on average one woman dies or. one girl all 72 Hours through a femicide. There are no statistics on violence against FLINTA* people, which shows, that so far too little attention has been paid to this. Last year Malte C. attacked on the sidelines of the Münster Pride Parade and died from his injuries a few days later. Overall, attacks on CSD demonstrations have also increased. At the same time, they are also FLINTA* people, who are in the front row around the world in revolts like the current one in Iran or in anti-war actions like in Russia and despite repression for “jin jiyan azadi” – women, life, freedom! - battle. We are inspired by this and want to 8. March will take to the streets in solidarity with all strikers and fighters in Germany and worldwide.

Join us and spread the word!
