A discussion event organized by the University of Kassel for an unlimited period
23. January 2023, 18 Clock, seminar room 0207, Nora-Platia-Str. 6, 34127 Kassel.
The permanent employment of university employees has become the subject of widespread criticism in recent years - thanks to grassroots initiatives and unions at universities, but also because of the #IchbinHanna campaign. Many of us discuss our working conditions and protest against the status quo. Nevertheless, little has changed in the contractual framework. We want to discuss, what ways out of permanent employment could look like. We have invited two high-profile guests for this purpose:
Tilman Reitz is professor of sociology of knowledge and social theory at the University of Jena and a member of the Network for Good Work in Science (NGAwiss). He is co-author of a study by NGAWiss 2020, which presents new personnel models for German universities and wants to show ways out of precarity.
Sonja Buckel is Vice President of the University of Kassel and Professor of Political Theory in the Department of Social Sciences.
