Graphic Storytelling Festival

The festival once again presents current and prominent positions in graphic storytelling and comics. On four days of the festival, the audience can expect readings and discussions about comics and graphic novels.

It'll be fun, dramatic, historical, musically, poetic, visionary, biographical, trendy, classic, multimedia, colorful and varied anyway. Due to the pandemic situation being difficult to plan, the festival will not take place in its original location this time, the art temple opposite the town hall, instead of, but in the much larger Schlachthof cultural center.

One focus is on the topic of comics and music: The opening evening already offers a special highlight: Bernhard Skopnik's graphic novel “My Name Is Jack And I Live In The Back” is by Axel Garbelmann (recitation) and Sven Krug (double bass) interpreted together. projection, Recitation and jazz improvisation promise an extraordinary audio-visual experience. The illustration and comics class from the Kassel Art University will also be there again. Young talents provide a cross-sectional insight into their current topics and artistic works.
