Constantin, Sarah and Gregor live in a polyamor relationship. Your intimate commitment in the documentary “canopy” is the demonstration of a free relationship between three people – and at the same time a story about finding identity, The questioning of learned structures and processing a childhood in a radical Christian environment. In the honesty of the protagonists and the same way of the film, there is a generality and the political question of how free we are in our choice in search of a definition, an identity, a concept that it can be lived. How can they be solidified, historically grown (Relationship)Deconstruct or overcome concepts? The lovers, conduct the conversations, to sing, tease each other or be silent together, give an insight into the life of a social unity, which drives the questions of trust and tolerance to the top. To find ourselves, we have to get lost first. The film had its world premiere at Ji.hlava idff 2021 and was then seen as part of other international festivals. “canopy” is a very personal film and the first feature film by director Anna Caroline Arndt.
