Business starts at home. Not in the trading room, but in the kitchen, in the garden, in the study. The new exhibition of the SDG+ Lab from UniKasselTransfer “housekeeping + Sticking together – living the economy differentlyasks: What can economics look like in everyday life?, focused on responsibility, Care and cycles?

Visitors explore in a walk-in model house, how the economy is changing, when we use materials like compost, Wood or straw not as waste, but rather use them as resources for the future. Like repair, Care and joint action create new forms of value creation and cycles emerge. Instead of the market, the organization of everyday life was originally at the center of the economy. Derived from the Greek “oikos”, the term economy describes the house and the shared living space. Show exemplary everyday life, what life can look like in such a household, and summarize the work of the SDG+ Lab in the theme year “Transformations in Work and Economy”.. From food cycles to composting and repair to reused and bio-based materials. The exhibition shows, that economic transformation begins there, where people use resources, maintain, share and think in cycles. This creates a different understanding of economics: one, that on received, Caring and sharing is aimed at. One economy, that holds together.
