multiple daysFilm sound engineer Tobias Böhm presents the fascinating and particularly easy-to-learn technique of original head microphones in two workshops. The history is presented in a short theoretical part, The technology and the preferred areas of application of binaural microphones are presented. In the practical part, impressive surround recordings are made and mini radio plays are produced in two rounds, which can be listened to via headphones. The results will then be made available for all participants to download. No prior knowledge required.
The process:
-Quick interview, Working with sound, Levels of radio play sound
-The dummy head- and original head microphone: How does this work? Short theoretical part
-Digital recording technology in a nutshell, Preparation for the first round of practice
-First round of practice: Exercise with OKMs, Audio walks and atmospheres, experience- and exchange of results, Suggestions for improvement
-Second round of practice: Designing “Stories out of a Hat” (in small groups of 3-6 Short radio plays are created for people). Technology for at least three groups is available. Followed by discussion and exchange
-Possibly third round of practice: New composition of groups, free choice of “stories from a hat”, maximum length 2min
-Final round
