Kulturfabrik Salzmann (on the copper hammer), Kassel

The GRUPPA KARL-MARX-STADT invites you to the Balkan party! The first notes from the trumpet and saxophone give the starting signal, The drums and a huge bass balalaika get the first dancing legs swinging. Balkan fever is rising in the audience: Logically, because the Gruppa Karl-Marx-Stadt is in the house! Frontman Alexey performs bright original compositions as well as tried-and-tested feel-good songs - always with tongue-in-cheek lyrics and a charming accent.
Ob Sha, Latin or funk – no rhythm on this planet is safe from the Gruppa's fiery drive!
Before and after the concert: Music from IRIE ITES SOUNDSYSTEM. Irie Ites sound system was 1999 founded in Kassel as a reggae/dancehall sound crew. During this time, Toppa established the first reggae shows in a small club called Querbeat, to 2001 the first regular Irie Ites Soundsystem dances took place in larger venues. Starting with reggae and dancehall in the early 2000s, became Roots Reggae, Dub & Since then, steppa music has become increasingly important. With the beginning of the “Roots Department” Dances a year 2011 and the current party series “Subliftment” These styles were placed at the center of sound system activities. Irie Ites sound system is capable, to offer a very wide spectrum of reggae music: From the early rocker era to 80s Rub-A-Dub bangers to the latest Steppa- and digital tunes. No mental boundaries, as long as the music is exciting!
