Howie Reeve + Leonore Boulanger

Howie Reeve is not only an excellent bassist and singer, but also an incredibly charismatic performer. He's been making music for what seems like forever and is deeply rooted in the DIY subculture. First as part of a whole series of Glasgow bands, since 2012 solo with acoustic bass. Stylistically he moves in post-punk, Avant pop and folk.

Léonore Boulanger is an incredibly versatile artist. She has acting, Studied experimental jazz improvisation and Persian music in Paris. Her music reflects her keen interest in African folklore and composers such as George Crumb, Teiji Ito, Harry Partch and singer Meredith Monk. We expect influences of classical music, quirky Jazz-Pop, imaginary folk, music boxes, R'n'B medieval, motets and futuristic madrigals, which are structured like hop cakes, Byzantine mathematics.

Léonore Boulanger and Howie Reeve are on tour together. Howie has been a guest at the Subterrain many times, We welcome Léonore for the first time. We are looking forward to it, to welcome them both.
