JEAH!-youth academy: How to(s) Europa? Cartoon workshop for young people – 16.01.-17.01.
The cartoon medium is an important component of critical social reflection. It reacts directly to political and social developments – comments, exaggerates, comes to a head. Especially in times of climate change, Right-wing populism, Wars and a resurgent Trumpism, Europe needs creative forms of reflection, of contradiction – and new ones (Europa-)pictures! In the multi-day workshop “How to do it(s) Europa!? Cartoon workshop for young people” young people aged 14-27 are invited, Together with the renowned cartoonist Stephan Rürup, he deals with the challenges and future questions of Europe in drawings. Through exaggeration, Cartoons are created through parody and pointed condensation of complex connections, show the attitude, Make grievances visible and open up new perspectives.
The workshop combines political and cultural education in an innovative way: to discuss, to draw, sharpen. The conclusion is an exhibition – analogue in the form of a real exhibition and virtually on the internet.
