Am Sonntag möchten wir euch einladen zum Auftakt unserer Filmreihe über antikolonialen Widerstand. Gemeinsam wollen wir den Film „Die Stunde der Hochöfen“ von Pino Solanas und Octavio Getino schauen.
The movie is 1968 unter der argentinischen Militärdiktatur entstanden. Illegal produziert und anfangs nur illegal in Gewerkschaftskreisen, Fabriken, und Universitäten gezeigt ist der Film Anklage und Analyse der Situation in Argentinien und darüber hinaus: der Film zeigt die Techniken und die Gewalt des Neokolonialismus und die Möglichkeiten des antikolonialen Widerstands.
As a draft of a “third cinema” against Hollywood and European auteur films, it sees itself as a direct part of the Latin American and global resistance movement at the time. In this conception, the film is no longer just an examination of resistance, but rather a cultural expression and facet of the movement itself. As Solanes and Getino write in their manifesto for an anti-colonial cinema, “The third cinema is an instrument, to share our truth, thorough, lens, subversive, the […] wants to liberate the immature and oppressed people".
