Knot in the head: Social Left and the Peace Movement with Ingar Solty (Rosa Luxemburg Foundation)
At the beginning of the Ukraine War, the left-wing and peace policy commonplace became commonplace, that arms deliveries to bourgeois states should be rejected across the board, literally swept away. While some people are talking about it, that basic left-wing beliefs were thrown overboard, the others emphasize the strangeness of this positioning.
We therefore want to focus on the conflictual relationship between the social left and the peace movement with our speaker Ingar Solty from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation, from both a historical and contemporary perspective. We want to understand, what the meaning of peace policy and its practical implementation is for the social left. In doing so, we want to trace the peculiarities of current schisms in peace policy and the contradictions and aporias of “left-wing” arms supply advocates. In addition, possible conditions for a successful peace movement should be explored.
Ingar Solty is a speaker for peace- and security policy at the Institute for Social Analysis of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
