The Free Workers Union (FAU) Göttingen and the FAU Kassel are calling for a rally in front of the Göttingen labor court. At the same time, a conciliation hearing is taking place in the courthouse. The negotiation is about a conflict between 24 former employees of the DHL parcel center in Staufenberg near Kassel and the temporary employment agency
WorKings.
WorKings is a subcontractor, which recruits and employs workers for the DHL parcel center. WorKings withheld parts of their wages from the affected employees for several months.
Overall, with the support of their union FAU Göttingen, they are demanding around 100.000 euros of outstanding wages. The case of an employee is now being heard in court. However, a statement is read out there, which was signed by all affected employees and makes it clear, that this is not an isolated case, but rather systematic wage fraud.
The affected employees are primarily people from Somalia and Eritrea. It's close, that the temporary employment agency WorKings specifically hired migrant people, to systematically cheat them out of their wages.
Come to the rally and show solidarity with colleagues who have been cheated out of their wages! Against the racist exploitation of workers in Germany and worldwide!
