From the 01.04.2026 psychotherapeutic services should be provided 4,5 % be shortened. And that in a supply system, which is already under massive strain. The average waiting time for psychotherapy to begin is already 142 days.
At the same time, absenteeism due to psychological reasons has been increasing significantly for years.
This cut therefore does not only affect psychotherapists. It primarily affects patients, children, teenagers, Families and all people, who depend on timely help.
Anyone who weakens outpatient psychotherapy, exacerbates gaps in care and accepts longer illnesses and higher follow-up costs.
Mental health does not need to be devalued, but political will, better access and reliable supply.
