Many brave people have been taking to the streets in Iran for over a week, to protest against the regime of the Islamic Republic. What was initially a reaction to the disastrous economic situation in the country, escalates into a new peak of resistance against the government. Previous waves of protests were suppressed with violence and arrests. The outcome of the current uprisings across the country is uncertain, but many hope for an end to the mullahs' rule. Because the regime is brutal, anti-Semitic ideology, oppresses the entire population, but especially women, homosexual people and minorities.
