Gender – what is that anyway??In “Gender Punks” Kuku Schrapnell follows historical trans- and intersex people from 17. up to 20. Century and shows, that there have always been people throughout history, who defied social expectations and institutional oppression.

Kuku Schrapnell tells entertainingly and sensitively about the lives of queer icons like Romaine-la-Prophétesse, Lucy Hicks Anderson, der Danshō Okiyo, the collective STAR or K. M. Baer and also openly reflects on personal experiences. Because it's nothing less than the question: How do we make this world, in which patriarchy and capitalism reinforce each other, to a better place?
