The old time & Bluegrass session has been held since 2016 regularly in Kassel or in the North Hessian area. The session is supported and largely organized by members of the Folk- & Bluegrass Friends North Hesse e.V. WHO CAN JOIN?
Anyone can take part and also make suggestions for songs, these if necessary. and thus expand the “standard” repertoire of bluegrass and old-time tunes. Related genres such as Americana, Country, Blues and folk music (Irish/Scottish) are also possible. Or you can just come by and listen.
Most of the pieces are quite easy to accompany. The session offers a good introduction for every musical level, above all, to actively get to know the music and styles. Improving technique but also solo- and improvisation games are encouraged.
WHICH INSTRUMENTS?
Oldtime and bluegrass are particularly interesting for guitar, violin (Fiddle), Banjo, Mandolin, Bass, Good, Dulcimer and of course singing! But other acoustic instruments can also get involved.
