Phoenician Drive is a sextet, the 2016 was founded in Brussels. A mix of rock and traditional music, at the oud, Derbuka and other percussion instruments meet distortion and pop sounds. In the footsteps of earlier East-West music mixes from the 70s such as Erkin Koray or Orient Express and under the influence of the German Krautrock scene (Neu!, Can, Faust, …).

In the year 2017 became her debut EP “Two Coins” on EXAG’ Records (EU) and Stolen Body Records (UK) released and gained widespread attention in rock- and world music scene. Then, 2018, Phoenician Drive released their self-titled debut album on Exag’ Records & SK Records. They also had the opportunity to work with the renowned Belgian contemporary dance choreographer Wim Vandekeybus and score his show “Trap Town” to write.

In the spring 2019 the group decided, to take a step back and work on a live acoustic show, to return to the roots of their approach and revisit their electric songs. The band toured 2021 and 2022 exclusively with this acoustic format.

Beginning 2021 Phoenician Drive began working on electric songs again with a new band member. From these sessions came a new EP called “Glow”. This new EP, which is enhanced by singing and bright and dancing colors, is nevertheless a direct response to the difficult situation of the last two years, of the imprisoned- and isolation. Hence the title ‘Glow’: a call for emancipation, Generosity and all forms of freedom.
