Autumn started a while ago, to usher in the dark season. The time change is coming soon and it will get dark even earlier. It's high time for fun indoor formats. That's why we organize it Queer Center Kassel and the North Hesse network office a queer solidarity winter market!

Why a solidarity market?
It's not just at the moment that there is always a lack of money for queer projects. And actually we constantly say “buy local” and “support queer artists and groups”. The idea emerged from this context, to create a queer solidarity winter market.
Here you can local, queer groups & Artists sell their homemade items and visitors find fabulous gifts for themselves and others at the same time. It's not just money from the communities that benefits the artists and groups, who sell something! Because this is where the solidarity part comes into play: There is no traditional stand fee, but the sellers commit themselves to it 20% of her winnings to a queer woman, non-commercial group in northern Hesse.

Barriers
Location
The QuZ is in 5. floor of Mauerstrasse 11 in Kassel. Directly in front of the entrance door is the Königsplatz/Mauerstraße bus stop and a little further is the Königsplatz tram stop. It is located between the entrances to the Kurfürstengalerie, where you can get to the in-house practices. There are no automatic door openers. There is a small reception team waiting for you on the ground floor, that the entrance door opens for you, if you need support. Im 5. We also keep an eye on the entrance door and open it manually.
Wheelchair/walker accessibility
There is an elevator, which is also wide enough for most wheelchairs and walkers. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. The stands are set up like this, that everywhere at least 90-100 cm of space, to move through space. When it gets crowded, this will be more difficult.
We ask people, who are traveling without mobility aids, to give special consideration to people with mobility aids.
Once & Retreat space
It is expected to be relatively loud and colorful during the market. There is no flickering of light or anything like that. planned, but lightning etc. can still occur based on photos, for example. We do not have music playing in the main room during the first hour of the market. However, it can be louder there too. There is a retreat room at the end of the hallway, which will be open on both days. It will probably taste like punch and possibly others (sweeten) smell food.
Seating
There will probably be no seating for visitors in the market area. There is a chill room, which is not the retreat space. There is a couch and chairs here, where you can rest.
Substance use/ Alcohol/drugs/smoking&Arms
The consumption of illegal substances is prohibited in QuZ. Smoking and/or vaping is also not permitted in the rooms. Please go to the door. It's not clear at this point, whether alcohol is being consumed in the QuZ rooms at this time. We are updating this information, as soon as we have them.
Fluffy companions
We hope, that it will be full. On the one hand, this means a stressful environment for a fluffy, but also that people with animal hair allergies can be there. We therefore ask you, If possible, leave your fluffy friends at home.
