Am Sunday, 08.02. one 19:30 Clock, ignites that 7. Graphic Storytelling Festival in the Bellevue Palace a visual fireworks display. The evening starts with concentrated knowledge: The lecture „Manga: From origin to global phenomenon” by Ilo Ebbe and Karen Hertfelder illuminates the hype, before the supporting film „KINETICA: 40 years of anime“ (Riksmagick & Viktor Mueller) takes over cinematically.
The ultimate highlight: Mamoru Oshii's Cult Epic ANGEL’S EGG (1985) shines for the first time in the brand new 4K restoration (OmdU). A rare opportunity arises between hypnotic silence and brutal aesthetics, to finally discover this mystical masterpiece on the big screen. The performance is the heart and conclusion of the “History(n)! To draw(!)“, that this anime – Trip with readings from comic greats like Birgit Weyhe, Maren Amini or Tobi Dahmen merged.
