This February we invite visitors:inside for a special edition of our reading series, because the Hamburg comic artist Wiebke Bolduan is coming to Kassel, to get insights into “Viktoria Aal”, her graphic novel debut with Berliner Reprodukt Verlag, admit.
The center of the graphic novel is the unfortunate Bruks. She wrote a novel, its main character, the mermaid Viktoria Aal, is always happy. After being rejected by a publisher, Bruks initially leaves her carefree character behind. But then her own work unexpectedly catches up with her again. In the middle of a mermaid show, the Hamburg illustrator Wiebke Bolduan talks about the author:inner shaft, Self-acceptance and interpersonal relationships.
Am 22. We start in February 19 Clock in studio oqela (Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse 97) with a reading. Afterwards there will be a workshop discussion with Wiebke Bolduan and there will be an opportunity for a question- and give a signing session.
about the author
Wiebke Bolduan, born 1994 near Eisenach, studied illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Her thesis “Warnebi” has been 2022 received a GINCO Award in the category “Best Self-Published Comic” and is published 2024 in English from Fieldmouse Press. In the same year, MamiVerlag published “Thoughts about Thoughts” in the Shorts series”. Wiebke Bolduan lives and works in Hamburg and is part of the comic festival organizing team there.
