Rotopopol Tales Mit Carmen José

This September the illustrator and educator Carmen José is a guest at the Tuesday Tales, to present her latest book “I Don’t Know How to Draw a Tree” as part of a performance and exhibition.

„I Don’t Know How to Draw a Tree“ is an artistic walk in the forest, who invites you to do so, To rediscover creativity beyond learned requirements. Using the example of trees in all their facets, Colors and shapes, the book outlines a philosophy, in which the intuitive joy of the creative process itself is in the foreground.

Carmen Jose has been 1991 born in Spain. She is an illustrator and educator with an MA in visual communication from the Kassel Art University. 2016 Her debut book “Allí” was published : Here” at Rotopol, where she has worked as co-editor and author ever since. She worked as part of the aneducation team at documenta14 in Kassel and Athens Greece. 2018 she moved to Rotterdam, where she works as an artist and researcher, most recently in the illustration and social practice departments at the WDKA Art University.

Am 30. We're starting in September 19 Clock in studio oqela (Friedrich-Ebert-Strasse 97) with a performance in English. Afterwards there will be an opportunity for a question- and give a signing session. The entrance fee is 3€. The Tuesday Tales are a collaboration between Rotopol and studio oqela.
