Triggerwarnung – (Racist/sexualized) force, Escape, Tod, dead people
From the desert to the Mediterranean: About 15 For months, the production company Boxfish accompanied the sea rescue ship ALAN KURDI of the “Sea-Eye” association during five missions as a media team on the Mediterranean. In addition to numerous moving moments at sea, material was also created in countries like Niger, Tunisia, Libya, Italy and Malta. This material is now presented to the public in the form of the documentary “Route 4”..
“Route 4” is a topic, namely the danger, which prevails in Libya and originates from there, framed, still it is not the goal, to tell a consistent story. Rather, the audience should be able to take a look at what they have experienced and seen, by focusing on the individual fates of those seeking protection.
The filmmakers want to draw attention to problems that the EU has created itself. To the suffering and hardships, that happen to people on their travels, and to the incredible work of NGOs (in this case Sea Eye), who are the only ones to take on the task, Saving people in the Mediterranean.
