It's that time again: The schwarts festival invites you on 28. and 29. August 2026 for the third time at the Sandershaus in Kassel. The subterranean and outdoor areas will once again be transformed into a place for special concert experiences, creative encounters and two unforgettable summer nights.
As every year, the festival is dedicated to a partner country. 2026 the focus is on France, a country, whose cultural diversity goes far beyond the well-known clichés. This year's festival would like to take up these facets and invite you to do so, French influences in music, Discover literature and cuisine.
Traditions should not be missing either. The waffle stand will be part of the festival again and the culinary offering will be new, expand French-inspired waffle creation.
There will be an outdoor stage again this time, which enriches the festival with another atmospheric venue. This is where music and summer festival atmosphere come together, creating space for special moments in the open air.
Another highlight is the designed outdoor area: Inspired by the French fairy tale “The Yellow Dwarf”, an artistic decoration is created, which takes you into a fantastic world. Accompanying readings invite you to do so, to rediscover history and experience the fairytale atmosphere with all your senses.
Of course it also stands 2026 the music is the focus of the festival. There will be a varied program on both days.

When the live sounds have faded away, the festival is far from over: The after-show parties invite you to do so on both evenings, to continue celebrating together, to dance and let the experiences of the day come to an end.
The schwarts festival stands for the joy of new musical discoveries, for cultural exchange and the special atmosphere, that arises, when people come together, to experience art and music together. With France as a partner country, the edition promises 2026 once again two extraordinary festival days full of sound, Creativity and encounters.
We are looking forward to it, to celebrate together with old friends and new faces in the Sandershaus – à bientôt!
