Das Memphis-Duo TURNSTYLES (Graham Winchester & Seth Moody) skin same on the new double album “2”. 30! songs out, which comes in a chic gatefold cover (designed by Coco Moody) make comfortable. The duo presents a variety of garage punk and emotionally charged rock'n'roll songs & groovige Surfsongs (partly with a psychological note), but they also like to veer towards punk rock in the middle of a song. Plus some really sweet 60s power ballads, 50s-Teen-Rock’n’Roll(-Punk), Memphis Billy without double bass, Psychedelic Sci-Fi Sounds with 80s Feeling, garage power pop, concise singing and of course a lively pace- and rhythm changes. And not to forget: Every now and then a well-dosed shot of melancholy, but also harmonious influences from the Beatles and, indispensable, a big sip or two of Moscow Mule. There are also two cover songs on the album (“So Sad” – Everly Brothers, This song has also been covered by Reigning Sound and by the way: On their last album before their final dissolution, Graham Winchester also played the drums and of course the gigs for the album) + “Seven Little Numbers” (The Rapids) represent. With an unusual one, as well as a theatrically captivating almost “spoken” song (“Somebody Else”) then the intense pleasure ends.
The garage rock band will also be there SMOKIN‘ TATERS from Kassel.
