ABC to the climate crisis – Climate justice rather than climate protection!
What remains of the beautiful life after capitalism?
The climate crisis was 2019 the most important issue in the political debate.
But what is this climate change at all? In the polarizing debate between supporters and opponents of increased climate protection a basic explanation often falls by the wayside.
This is the present paper wants to change, by providing an introduction to the topic. What is this climate change? Why is changing due to the emission of greenhouse gases, the climate? What are tipping points in the global climate system and why they should not tilt? How does climate change affect our living conditions affect? (Hitzetote,`Natur` disasters, rising waters, difficult conditions in the food production u.v.m.)
The second part should be about, what influence the climate crisis on capitalism.
Why do we need in capitalism growth? since that grows really? decouple can be increased resource consumption and capitalist growth? How react relevant actors of capitalist society to climate change and why? And why capitalist societies find it so hard, a fundamental source of their wealth, an intact nature, to obtain? Who decides there really like about our living conditions? Who suffers actually, if the air conditioner converts?
The small farmers in developing countries certainly different than the CEO of BlackRock and builders certainly different from his boss in the air-conditioned office. Thus, climate issues are always class issues. Concerns of the presentation, it is also, the social question “Who owns how much, why and by what right?” to discuss in relation to climate change, to clarify: This is not about protecting the climate, but climate justice!
