At the classic poetry slam, authors compete against each other in a literary poetry competition and present their texts on stage within a short time limit. Less about competition, The Death Slam workshop series with Heléne Grüning is about expressing one's own feelings. In three appointments we will dedicate ourselves to the text genre of slam texts in writing workshops and address the topics of grief in a safe space & Loss. There can be something very intuitive about poetic writing or writing a slam text, which can cause you to look at your feelings in a new light afterwards. Writing, Helene knows that, On the one hand, it can take the power out of the emotions of grief, by separating the emotions from yourself a bit, or at least used as a catalyst for a moment, to convey thoughts externally onto the page, instead of having them alone on your mind.
A slam is always about the presentation: If there are enough participants, who would like to present their texts, We offer the opportunity to present the texts in front of an audience at a final event.
There are three dates available for the writing workshops with Heléne:
