YOOS‘ The musical foundation consists of a heavy interpretation of post metal. Three guitars and a bass create thematic layers and pile them up into melodic castles in the air, Tighten one time in their pathos and sometimes cling fragile moments of pausing… To then be grooving, to be torn down to the foundations of discontinuously! But their proven Post Metal-DNA provide Yanos with abrupt change and demanding, orchestralen Arrangements, which you otherwise know more from the progressive metal: Odd bars, Polyrhythmik, composed guitar solos. Nevertheless, the album sounds consistent and sometimes even catchy tune-inducing.
With Wolfram Rochner as a new vocalist, a deep-growle and icy, screaming voice rises over the dramatic, Dynamic expedition and shifts Yanos' genre limit towards Black and Death Metal. It wonders, to what extent Yanos can be clearly classified in a certain genre. You might think dazzling: Progressive Blackened Post Death Metal.
