Demo call
In solidarity with the struggles of our friends and comrades here and around the world, we want to... 18. March to take to the streets in Kassel for the Day of Political Prisoners. The day became 1923 declared by the International Red Aid to be the International Day of Aid for Political Prisoners. The day is said to commemorate the Paris Commune uprisings in the year 1871 as well as their destruction and the subsequent repression against tens of thousands.
Even today we have enough reasons, to celebrate the day: All over the world, state repressive apparatuses are trying left-wing ones, to attack and smash progressive and revolutionary forces by persecution. We are currently seeing this particularly drastically in Iran, where people across the country protest against the mullahs' regime and are imprisoned for it, are tortured and killed. There are also a number of opposition politicians in Turkey:People and representatives of the Kurdish movement were imprisoned and tortured by the AKP-MHP regime. We also see the persecution of them in Russia, who position themselves against the war of aggression against Ukraine.
But in Germany too, the state and its repressive authorities are taking massive action against left-wing movements: Be it like last time against them, who defended the village of Lützerath in the fight for climate justice or are active in the numerous forest occupations. With the Antifa-Ost procedure, in which five anti-fascists are accused and which will soon end, an example is currently being made, that should enable the state, to take even tougher action against anti-fascists in the future. But our comrade Lina has already been in prison for over two years and further proceedings are being opened. The persecution of left-wing media projects also continues, as the recent house search at Radio Dreyeckland showed. Kurdish comrades are also being subjected to repression in Germany: Be it through 129b procedures, which are attributed to them due to the PKK's listing as a terrorist organization, or through immigration harassment and the constant threat of deportation to Turkey. But in Germany too, the state repressive apparatus is being given ever new powers, that affect non-white people with different severity. After the amendments to the police laws were made a few years ago, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania's police law was recently declared partially unconstitutional. Nevertheless, politicians don’t stop, to think of new ways to attack our fight: In Hesse, an assembly law is now to be passed quickly, that aims at that, Criminalize protest and expand the possibilities for repression.
We must be clear: Every imprisonment of our comrades is also an attack on the movement behind them, an attack on ideas and values, that they represent. The state reactions to combative, Left-wing movements are similar worldwide, even if they affect us in varying degrees of severity. It applies, not to let this get us down and to stand firmly and united against the repression of the police and the state.
On these attacks on our joint struggle for a solidarity, climate rights, gender neutral, We must respond decisively to the anti-capitalist world - not just to prevent further political prisoners, but also, about the comrades, who are currently sitting in kneads worldwide, not to be left alone.
It is our job to take this fight to the streets - that's why: out to 18. March!
We demand, Whether in Iran, in Turkey or in Germany: Stop persecuting revolutionary forces, Stop imprisoning anti-fascist activists! For a life without prison! Freedom for our comrades!
