Die Initiative 19. February Hanau has demands for appropriate remembrance, social justice, Complete information and political consequences are brought to the public. We would like to join their call again this year:
"Years, Months and days pass, but the pain continues to grow.
The 19. February 2020 – that day our loved ones were brutally torn from our lives.
The wounds, that this day left in us, don't heal. Years, Months and days will pass - the pain remains.
Since 19. February 2020 we know too, that our loved ones weren't just a part of our lives. People all over the country felt connected to them. They gave something of their time, their lives, their ideas and their strength, to carry the grief and anger together and keep the memory alive.
We tell your stories, complain about that, what's happened, what is not said and what was not prevented.
During these three years we have spoken to all political leaders. We were in Frankfurt, in Wiesbaden, in Berlin. We found open doors and ears. But not with open hearts.
We were promised justice. And yet, even on the third anniversary, we must continue to ask about consequences, which still doesn't exist. The investigative committee, who was supposed to answer our questions, does not live up to its mission. We ask ourselves, How long do Hessian security authorities want to cover up?, How long will you be silent?, ignore for how much longer?
today, almost three years later, we know: the limit of justice is called consequences.
To this day there is no memorial on the market square, we continue to fight for it, that there is a memorial in the market square. We have researched and clarified ourselves and our joint exhibition with Forensis will be starting from 1. February to 18. March in the Hanau town hall.
We demand you for that 19. February again, to stand by our side. Organize rallies in the streets and squares of your cities and villages, Demonstrations, Commemorative activities. Remembering means changing.”
Kassel complies with this demand! Am 19.02.2023 we come together with people who show solidarity, to remember, to commemorate and fight for political consequences!
