Bettenhausen once became an independent village 1906 incorporated into the city of Kassel. Conveniently located on the Losse, An industrial area arose here early on: Salzmann, Spinning fiber and Fieseler are still known to many today.
During the Second World War there was a massive use of foreign forced labor:inside the German Reich and in the German-occupied countries.
