Over the past decade, a new cycle developed world authoritarian, antidemocratic, neoliberal, very conservative to völkisch oriented social dynamics. is all the more conscious, that the success of emancipatory struggles of the past and present are often more fragile than expected. For critical social scientists * inside, * Unionists inside, Engaged in movements make intensified questions about the causes of these developments, as well as prospects for action. The Association for critical social research, 2004 founded, sees itself as a place, merge to these often isolated debates, think ahead and bring theory to the concept.

Instead of a given thematic framework, the conference is held together by the intersections of AkG members in their work and research. Panels und Workshops u.a. the following aspects are being considered: New authoritarianism and fascism, Socialism and radical democracy as transformation strategies, Social movements, Migration in the context of a culture of welcome and the deportation complex, Statehood in crisis, Work and research at universities reflected in neoliberalization and authoritarianism, and left-wing journalism in crisis.
