A lecture by Christiane Kassama as part of the Storytales story festival.

Children's books are fantasy, Adventure world, language, education, Identity and security. Then why is diversity, Sensitivity to racism and diversity cannot be taken for granted in children's books? Racist, discriminatory thought patterns, Behaviors and prejudices are not given, but learns! That means, that these can also be forgotten again!

Christiane Kassama was born and raised in Baden-Baden. since 1985 she lives and works in Hamburg, where to look for a discrimination sensitive, Racism-critical early education of children occurs in daycare and preschool. The black German educator, The speaker and daycare manager used to be active in the Black People Initiative in Germany, and organized since 2005 the Africa Festival Alafia in Hamburg.

The talk will be given in German, simultaneous translation into English is provided.
