Before over 4 years ago B. Efe victim of a racist murder attempt in Kassel at work. As a mini car driver, he was stabbed in the neck by the perpetrator while driving from Friedrich-Ebert-Straße to Nordstadt, who also insulted him racially. B. Efe barely survived.
Despite his detailed description, the police and media initially ignored the racist background of the crime. Long bureaucratic processes and a lot of harassment followed. There is no real help from government institutions! The Kassel parties also showed no initiative B. to support Efe. His application for compensation from the Hessian Victims Fund has been rejected several times over the years due to the alleged lack of regional significance of the case.
We are calling for a municipal victims' fund for victims of right-wing violence, because other places fail. Other survivors of right-wing violence such as Ahmed I. To date, we have not received any significant support from the city of Kassel.
B. Efe freight: “How long do I have to wait??”
In addition to an exchange with interested parties and other affected parties, we would like to discuss the following questions:
How should such a fund be designed??
Who should be eligible to apply??
What should he set aside money for??
What are the weak points of such a municipal victim fund??
We want to answer these questions and your ideas with the solidarity group around B. Efe discuss together with Sarah Haupenthal
(Project manager of CURA – Victims' Fund for Rights Violence of the Amadeu Antonio Foundation) and our city councilors Violetta Bock and Sabine Leidig
