A workshop by Read the Room as part of the Storytales story festivals.
Awareness and strategies against discrimination - that is what this workshop is about. We learn to read spaces and situations and to reflect our positions in them.
In our workshop at the @storytales_festival we deal with the characters in and behind our stories and how the perspectives, that we bring with us, they affect. Together we experience, what this means for our stories and consider, how we can contribute to a more conscious representation in storytelling.
Read the room, these are Johanna and Noëmi from Berlin. The two have a lifelong friendship, many experiences and topics, They are constantly exchanging ideas about them.
Johanna is both a bookworm and a music nerd and has a weakness for language and lyrics. She studied communication and anthropology in the Netherlands and Sweden, is trained in design thinking and diversity skills and has worked in the music industry for over three years. She deals with decolonial perspectives, critical whiteness and gender issues.
Noëmi's nose is stuck between the pages of a book even when walking and it is very likely that she is on her way to the cinema.
After her studies in international business and sustainable development, she has as sustainability- and brand strategist advise diverse organizations. In addition, she advocates a non-discriminatory approach(re) World of work and inclusive society with a focus on anti-racist educational work.
