The most exciting things can often be found right on your doorstep - and in the waters of Kassel's Nordstadt. That's why we want to be with you 02. September from 16 Go on a discovery tour through the Ahna. There we collect porcelain shards from times long past in the knee-high water together with product designer and explorer Charlotte Bluhme and are sure to come across some beautiful finds, that are decorated with interesting patterns or motifs.
Afterwards we want to bring the shards back to life: Together with the illustrator and archeology friend Flavio Apel, we continue to draw our finds in the fireplace room. What did the corresponding vase look like?? What was served on the plate, whose shard we found? In the workshop, Flavio shows you drawing tricks for realistic drawing and gives insights into his collage-like working method, in which found objects merge into images.

Charlotte Bluhme has been collecting shards in the streams of Kassel for many years and has an impressive collection of interesting and beautiful shards, which she draws and photographs again and again. She has immense knowledge of the history of porcelain, is Kassel's unofficial chairwoman and regularly organizes FLINTA* hikes through the Kassel area.
Flavio Apel draws and lives in Kassel. Born in Rome, He moved to Germany as a child and studied in Kassel and Marburg. He works almost exclusively through drawings, mostly in pencil and occasionally with colored pencils. His pictures are figuratively legible, but deliberately remain fragmentary and avoid a purely photographic reproduction.
